Library Safari: The Next Chapter

It’s been a while — in fact, since 2012, this little corner of the internet has been quietly waiting while life took me on quite a safari of its own.

In the years since my last post, my family moved twice, my babies grew into wonderful young adults,  and I stepped into new library roles and even earned National Board Certification. Those adventures kept me learning, growing, and collecting stories worth sharing.

Now, with fresh inspiration and a deep love for both libraries and technology, I’m excited to dust off Library Safari™ and begin exploring again — trekking the wilds of libraries, literacy, and technology with new tools, new ideas, and the same sense of curiosity that started it all.

Thanks for coming along for the next leg of the journey. The trail ahead looks brighter than ever.

Library Grand (?) Opening

I got a little excited about the new school year! Our library is unattached from the main buildings, and this was how I decorated one entry. I suppose it wasn't technically a "Grand Opening," but a sign like that would look a little less exciting if it just said "Opening," right?

Bookebration: Game Day!

It's the end of the quarter, so that means that all of my students who met their A.R. reading goals get to attend the Bookebration! Last time we danced, and this time we'll play - board games, that is. I am truly looking forward to seeing my loves interact with one another and non-digital entertainment!

I can't assume that all of my students will know how to play the games I make available to them, so I plan to begin by sharing these brief tutorials before we get started.
